The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two teenagers, Mohammed Saifullahi (16) and Shaibu Sulaiman (17), over alleged involvement in an unnatural offence, following a report lodged by a concerned parent.
The arrest was confirmed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Nafiu Habib, and made available to journalists in Bauchi.
According to the statement, the case was reported on January 8, 2026, at about 9:30pm at the Tilden Fulani Divisional Police Headquarters. The complainant alleged that his eight-year-old son was deceitfully lured and abused on several occasions.
SP Habib said detectives were immediately deployed, leading to the arrest of the first suspect, while the victim was taken to a hospital for medical examination.
During interrogation, the suspect reportedly confessed and mentioned another teenager, Shaibu Sulaiman, as his accomplice, who was subsequently arrested.
Preliminary investigations, according to the police, revealed that the suspects had allegedly been involved in the act for some time and that several minors were affected.
The PPRO added that investigation is ongoing and the suspects will be charged to court upon its conclusion.
Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, condemned the act and warned that anyone found engaging in such crimes would face the full weight of the law.
He also urged parents and guardians to closely monitor the activities and whereabouts of their children.
