KANO, NIGERIA – The Bauchi State Economic and Investment Summit concluded its nationwide roadshow series with a final, successful event in Kano State, attracting a significant number of local and international investors. The roadshow, which took place ahead of the main summit scheduled for October 8th and 9th, was a platform to showcase the diverse investment opportunities available in Bauchi State.
Representing Governor Bala Mohammed, the Secretary to the State Government, Aminu Hammayo, addressed the gathering. He emphasized that Bauchi State is fully prepared to welcome investors from across Nigeria and beyond. He highlighted the state's readiness to capitalize on its comparative advantages and expressed gratitude to the Kano business community for their attendance. Hammayo noted that the administration has strategically "unbundled" key economic sectors to ensure sustainable growth and development.
In a show of solidarity and partnership, Kano State Governor, Kabir Abba Yusuf, who was represented by the Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, and Cooperative, Alh. Shehu Wada Sagagi, stated that Kano and Bauchi share many common interests that necessitate collaboration for the mutual benefit of their people.
The event's Chairman, former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Alh. Mohammed Borodo, commended Governor Mohammed's initiative, stating that the summit would significantly promote economic growth and investment in Bauchi State. Other prominent personalities and investors in attendance also expressed their readiness to invest in the state.
The Bauchi State Commissioner of Budget, Economic Planning, and Multi-Lateral Coordination, Amina Mohammed Katagum, assured investors that all arrangements are in place to host the first-ever Bauchi State Economic and Investment Summit. She described the summit as a unique opportunity for global investors to take advantage of the state's potential.
The Chairman of the Bauchi State Economic and Investment Summit, Professor Murtala Sabo Sagagi, provided an overview of the event, outlining the numerous investment opportunities in agribusiness, education, health, natural resources, and other critical sectors. He extended an invitation to the Kano business community and industry captains to attend the upcoming summit and invest in Bauchi State.
